Oct. 2nd: Create a PowerPoint Presentation as a Whole Class

October 2, 2008

(Note to sub: Have the class go to the blog–some might not remember the address, osimodel.wordpress.com–and read these instructions)

In this project, each student will:

  1. Make one PowerPoint slide.
  2. Chris Bacon and Chris Farquhar at Vintage (Josh Hamilton and John Pierce at New Tech) will assign–to each student, including themselves–one concept, beginning with “What is Electricity,” and including volts, amps, ohms, and watts. After those FIRST FIVE SLIDES, they will assign one topic (one slide) about the POWER SUPPLY from Ch. 6, beginning on p. 271, until all students have a topic and the PC power supply is fully explained.
  3. When they are finished, my above class leaders should find a way to combine the slides into ONE PRESENTATION to be given at a later date. New Tech should finish by the end of the period. Vintage will finish tomorrow with me.
  4. The idea is a complete presentation on the power supply that explains the basic nature of the power supply and its basic functions.
  5. Work together nicely and do good work.
  6. Don’t forget to use the Web and the howstuffworks PC power supply article.
